Fighting an addiction to sugar
Getting off the sugar rollercoaster can be tough. At least it always has been for me. Our recent research into the glycemic index got me thinking about my sugar consumption again, and I came to the same conclusion I always have: it's too much. Muffins so good they should be illegal
Still thinking eating healthy means putting up with extra work or so-so taste?
Raw prejudice
After watching the movie "Food Matters", I had a mixture of reactions. I felt they were pushing the vitamin thing a little too far, Thousands of times the RDA of vitamin C is purported by some to cure cancer, but reviews of the evidence are highly controversial. I didn't expect to find so much controversy in my research! In fact, although conventional foods never came out ahead nutritionally, many studies said there was no difference between organic foods and conventional foods. This surprised me, so I started looking at who was conducting the studies.

When I First Met Laurel Avery... 1
When I first met Laurel Avery (the owner of this website) 3 years ago, I saw myself as a perfectly “normal” eater. Perhaps like many of you, I didn’t go overboard either on the healthy side, such as watching every little thing I ate or eating strictly vegetarian, nor did I indulge in “bad” things like fried foods or McDonalds (except for the occasional slip).
